hi all , merry crismas and all that

whats the usual cause for a very gentle drifting to the left when driving along, is it track rod or ball joint, anything common on the mk 1 galaxy.

Try driving on the wrong side of the road when the road is clear (doing it when it's not clear also fixes the problem), does it now drift to the right? if so it's road camber, my Gal does it just gently left all the time unless I drive on the right #8o)

my galaxy drifted to the left before the service. they replaced, drop link, track rod end, and two new tyres, and now its goes in a perfectly straight line.

I have 225/45 tryes and the road camber dose tend to pull the car towards the kerb,I went into a big car park and drove in a straight line and there was no drift at all.

The new tyres tend to stop any drag even if geometry's out, notice how light the steering is when new tyres are fitted on the front ?

yep, the steering is very light, i thought it was because of new fluid in the system?

Drift to the left (in the UK) is a characteristic common to most VAG models that use the same Macphearson strut design. The design is sensitive to the camber on the road and is slightly more pronounced if the car is assymetrically loaded (e.g. no passenger). Travel on the continent and it will drift to the right. Having said that, track road end wear is common which will accentuate the drift.

There is no easy way to adjust the suspension to compensate. <_<

...so, don't drive no-handed!

Bleedin' obvious really...

Why not, knee's are perfectly good for holding the wheel steady <_<

There's nothing wrong with a bit of drifting! if it's done in a controlled and safe manner <_< join a club, get out there on the track with like minded people and entertain the crowds  but as others have suggested stay off the public highways! it's not big or funny when someone gets hurt
